Hey guys... i was ALMOST done adjusting my pv's while i was on my last one tightening my cable to the 2.5mm spec my servo pulled back and loosend all of the cables.. is that normal? do i have to hold the servo in position while tightening the cables?
or am im doin something completely wrong?

Did you idle the engine down below 900rpm then shut it down and mark the servo pully? go to the faq section daman has some good photos explaining this

I would say yes you will have to turn it back to pull the cable
If I remember right I mark the servo pulley so I can tell if it turns

i did idle it down n turn it off..
n marked it.. but when i trie n adjust the last pv it just shoots back.. not just a slight move back it moves from the top to the complete side if u can imagine what im saying...
do guys think im adjusting it too quickly? so its makin the servo jump back?
IF for some reason i did not idle it completely down to 900rpm what must i do?

I think it is normal for the pulley to move, thats why you mark it. try moving it back. then finish setting the last one

alrite... ill try her out again tomorrow after since im getting ready to pass out..
what do u use to move it back.. cause theres no way im makin it move with 2 out of 3 cables already adjusted...
ive restarted and tried to do it twice so far but the servo keeps moving back on me... ill try again tomorrow mayb get my dad to hold it there until its adjusted n then hopfully it stays...
what would happen if i adjusted em all and they are good to go n b4 i tighten the bolts the servo kicks backwards again... can i just let it b n start the sled up n let it adjust itself?
thanks for the help!!

i read someone here locks vice grips on the pulley and lets it rest aginst the air box so it dont move .....or just turn it back to the mark by hand and have someone hold it there for you ....

Ok whats happening is your tightning the first two to tight then when you
come to the last one the sevro just cant hold it and it turns, very easy to
do that. you need to redo it and use less force on the first two, thats why
in my post i say GENTLY tight'en the cable adjusters.
just so it touches,,lightly.

Moving back and forth is normal. I actually purposely did this to feel the pv slide after adjusting them. I use a vise grip on the servo. Worked great. While adjusting you can have one hand turning the nut and the other holding the vise grip.

Like DAMAN said, There has to be some play in the cable/ lightly adjust.
Very easy to over do it. Loose is better/ if your guessing at it.. to tight and they will pull thru quickly..

you don't want to hold the servo because it will give false reading on the pv cable tightness, they all need to be the same or one will open slightly more then the other/s.
if the servo turns your too tight!!!!

using the 2.5mm allan wrenchs, adjust slowly..watch servo. If it starts to move, back off your adjustment. You can rotate servo with vise grips back and forth..aiming for your mark and if it stays there..it is good. Then procede to the next and next.

ahh ok.. i was using a 2mm object to do the gap but i would leave it a little more slack then usual to cover the .5
im gona retry it again when im back from work and GENTLY adjust em one by one... and prob hold the servo so it dont go back... n not tighten it as much or try n find somethin else thats exacly 2.5mm on the dot...

remember..don't hold the servo back from turning on purpose.Line up your mark and adjust..if it wants to move, then back off the adj. and try again just to the point where it doesn't rotate.

is there a better way to do it than just 1 at a time? or just b patient and play with it till she works...
re-reading some of the posts i missed....
when i adjust my pv calbes they are all pretty tight when i put the 2.5mm gap...

Everybody has there own way.And there is nothing wrong with that.
I use the vicegrips clamped loosely on the serv pully against the airbox after it has set and conformed with my old mark.
Than pull the cable down with your finger as you adjust the cable and check the clearance with the allan key.
So you can do them all at once and not have the pully move on you if you over tighten.
This is in no way a jab at any other players here...just my way seeing you asked.
