hi all i have just purchased a 1997 exciter from a buddy who upgraded sleds and the motor was pooched so i bought a used motor with twin pipes and it came with diffrent carbs they are mukuni round slide style well the motor that was origionally in the sled when i got it had mukuni butterfly style carbs with a single exaust pipe stock i need to know what carbs are the better ones to go with and weather or not the twin pipes will make any differance ? and what jets should i use will it be butterfly carbs or will it be roundslide what would be ur choice i would welcome any advice as im not familiar with yamaha motors as of yet thanks awaiting any help sent

The pipes will definetly make a differnce in speed as well as reliability. If you want it fast leave them on, if you want to make it more reliable go with a single pipe. Jetting depends on the exhaust choice.
