I have a 97 MM 600 at idle the clutch has a squeal to it not all the time just some of the time. I installed a new rebuilt engine in it about 120 miles ago and lined the clutches up installed a new belt but didnt check belt deflection could that be my problem. Also I install a KOSO digital EGT gauge this is a great item, EGT runs about around 850 to 950 on the trail just cruisen goes up to around 1100 in a hard pull and wide open across open field is that about normal I have the warning set at 1100F. Someone told me at 1250F bad things happen is this true any advise would be great.

Thanks :letitsnow

Remove the secondary, remove the bolts in the back then remove washers(shims) off the bolts then put the bolts back in,should help.

daman is right, but remember to save the washers so when it starts to squeel again you can put new bolts in with the old washers.

Hey guys', just to let you know i had a simular problem or incedent with my 600 venture.Last year I didn't have any squelling, but this season at idle and on the trail at slow speed she squelled! So I took out the thin washers behind the bolts on the secondary and she still squelled!I checked my center to center and offset, all was well, thanks' to this forums I read somewhere someone mentioned that if the 3 bolts are mushroomed at the ends replace them! Wa la,cured my squell, even put back the (thin) spacers and shes' good to go!!! Hope this helps....
