i have a 79 exciter 440 that dosent backshift worth a darn. took apart and all looks good and moves freely. anyone got any suggestions on settings. i had a SRX that had a GPX secondary and that worked pretty good. anyone got any suggestions....

I DID OPPSITE, I HAD SRX SECONDARY ON GPX. PROBLEM MIGHT BE IN YOUR PRIMARY. 3:16 (yammie tony)
aahhh yes, that could be possible. problem might go away then because im in the process of mounting 485 topend on 440 bottom end and im hoping to use phazer oil pump and primary....

ditch the oil injection and pre mix, one that you can control is being sure that the sled is getting the fuel in the way that it is suppose to get it.
another note, whereabouts in IN are you located ? I live in Portage MI which is south of Kalamazoo and we have a few vintage drag races on Long Lake each year. Quite a few Yamahas and Arctic Cats. Are you close to the MI / IN line?

I should get my cylinders back soon and hope to be out making some passes in a couple of weeks. I will send you a PM when the fun run is going again this year. We may have trouble getting the ice in good shape for racing with all this snow. May just have to run at pulaski.
