Can any one share with me the correct procedure for breaking in a new drive belt.... I thought there was no such thing as a properly broken in belt, it seems there are a few things that help the belts life and reliability...
Thanks.....
Thanks.....

Make sure the clutches are clean (scotchbrite pad with soap and water). I don't like the advertised cleaners because they leave a residue that the belt picks up. Then just take it easy (roll onto the throttle, and no full throttle bursts) for the first 10-20 miles. The 8DN is much less picky as it is a harder belt.

Ding's the man. I always wait at least 25 miles before I start getting into it.
Grass draggers will scrub a couple new belts in dishwater, and break them in. That way, they've got good belts tehy can throw on if needed.
I did ride with a guy once who swapped belts in hopes he ZR700 would keep up with the group, he wound up glazing several spots on the belt resulting in wacky rpms under acceleration! Pays to baby them a little.
