Tach differences 600 twin vs 700 triple?

I swapped a 600 twin into a 700 triple chassis with it's original gauge pod. At idle the tach appears to read correctly however when I grab throttle the tach moves slowly and is no way accurate as it never gets about 5000, is there something that would cause this? Is there a difference in a '97 600 XTC and '97 700 SX tach?

The one is calibrated for 3 cylinders, and the other is calibrated for 2..

Can I recalibrate? I can't quite do the math fast enough to recalculate as it revs, ha.

they are two different tachs, are they round guages, if so, i have a guage that will work.
