i have 97 MM600 w/ a 136", 1 inch paddle on it. I'd love to upgrade to a 2inch if possible. any suggestions on if that size will fit and what else i need to know to find a decent used track?..... pitch??

Pitch (assuming it wasn't changed) is 2.52. If you have the 9 tooth drivers all you can fit is a 1.75" lug. If you have 8's a 2" will clear nicely. Lots of good used tracks around. Try snowest as it is more mountain oriented than this site. Lots of guys selling their short track stuff over there.

I have a 97 MM600 with a 1.5 in track I love it I use too live out in WA state had no problems I now live in WI and still use the same track so far it works well here to just have to run thru the powder a little once in a while when trail riding.

I just put 2 inch on my sxr and i run into a problem with the track rubbing on rivets in the tunnel when i hit a big bump or a jump. Im thinking of making a bracket to drop the two back cross shafts on the suspension an inch or so. not sure how the mm is set up. smaller drivers will gear it down a little to.
