Howdy yall,
What is the biggest bottom gear that you can run in a 04 Viper Mountain chaincase. I am currently running 21-39 with a 70 link chain with 8 tooth exos. I would like to achieve a 2.25 ratio, so i think a 42 bottom gear would work mint. Anybody run a 43? Can we fit a 43?
Thanks!
Jeff

I've got a 42 in my srx and mountain max. Not sure if a 43 will fit in the case or not.

43, make sure you keep your chain tight. I have been running them for years in my sleds..................SRXtreme

Another note if your not running HYVO use a 15W top gear and a 13W lower gear..................SRXtreme

I am running a 41, if you get a 42
that 21/42 will give you a 2.25 ratio with 8 tooth drivers

NO!! you do not need to do any mods to the case. The only thing you need to watch is the tabs on the newer style gasket. This is why you run a 13w bottom gear. As well as saving weight/ rototing mass............SRXtreme

By running a 13w bottom gear wont the chain walk back and forth on the gear? Or does 13wide= 3/4"?
My hyvo chain is 3/4" wide
