Can anyone tell me the difference between a 97 twin 600 cylinder head and a 99 twin 500 cylinder head? I am sure the chamber size is smaller which should have higger compression right? Maybe I am off my rocker but give me your thoughts

your welcome. I had to do some research when I rebuilt last year and needed a new head. $35 on ebay.

it's also a great upgrade to replace the '97 head with the '99 500 head since it has different cooling deflectors inside.
