I am putting an edge skid into my 2002 viper.
It currently has the factory Proaction skid with rail extensions to 136" and obviously a 136" track.
I want to go to a 144" track on this puppy.
The edge skid is 121" so the way I looks at it I have a couple of options:
1) Go from 121" to 144" with rail extensions
2) Go from 121" to 141" with rail extensions and set the skid back 1-1/2"
3) Go from 121" to 136" with rail extensions and set the skid back 4"
What I don't know would be the pros and cons to #2 and #3.
Ideas?

I don't have any answer for you on the 144 questions but when you get around to selling off the 136 stuff, give me a shout.
I'd do the 121 to 136. While swapping the track go to a set of extrovert style drivers. Set of 8 inch wheels for the rear axle, and set the skid back about 2 - 2.5". This way you can run the track sloppy loose, eat up a little of the extra length with the bigger wheels, run a shorter extension, and not have to set the skid back so far as to screw up the ski pressure. My opinion anyway. Have fun with the project.
I have a polaris pro x 121 with rail extensions to 136. It is set back in the tunnel 4 inches, and rides just like it did at 136. Only difference is it get up ontop of the snow better. Maxdlx

Thanks Ryan, would you also change the gearing or leave it as is.
