I met him on the trail, we lined up. He had 2 great launches, so off the hop he had 5' on me. Otherwise it was dead even right through to 85 mph. I was quite impressed. I thought the Rev was faster. I was very happy.
Does this seem right?
I have 98 SRX 600, can, clutch, reed spacers, 1.5" ripsaw. But no poor traction.

he said 600. probably the 600ho motor. those are pretty quick machines. i have one, and it will hold its own for a while, against the bigger cc'ed machines.

I does matter if it's the carb or SDI. My SDI will walk my buddies Carbed. Plus I really don't get all the hype about going fast in a straight line. Run a king of the trails race with real trail conditions then see what wins. Just my 2cents.

Sorry, Yes it was a 600ho. Not sure if it was SDI or not though. It was brand new so may not be broken in yet.
I have not touched my SRX since I bought it but it does semm unussually fast. It out runs SKI DOO 583, 670 and 700's. My buddies own these so we race all the time.
As for straight line....I have a Porsche 911, and my buddies have camaros and mustangs. They all say lets race the 1/4 mile. I say lets race a auto cross.

Just remember, that the newer rider forward sleds are not as fast as the traditional sit downs. Add in the lower travel suspension of the srx and you have many advantages.
Plus, it really does matter what 600 it is. The SDI's and Etecs are much faster than the 600 carbed ones.
