a friend of mine who bought my old srv 540 want to upgrade it a little. i've heard you can upgrade to twin carbs. anyone done this before, or know how to do it. also, dose anybody make a pipe or pipes for this sled???
PSI made one, I had one on my SRV. I also have heard of twin carbs on them but they didnt live long...but that what I heard.
anybody know what sled he should be looking for to steal a set of carbs off of
the rack from a 87 exciter, the production release was duel butterflies..
what size motor was in that exiter?? a 580?? also do you have any ideas on what size jets to use??
it was a 570 if I remember correctly, not sure on the jets, sorry
yea 570 thats what i meant, i can prolly figure out the jetting
hey
i have srv -84 and mods what i have done are:
-optional primary spring(white -blue -white, if i remember right) i can check out the number if u need. response to throttle is better and engine revs max 7500 rpm
-öhlins front suspension
-engine is bored 1 mm larger (551 cm3)
-heads are lowrened, i have to run 98 oct gas 95 is too low
-wiseco pistons
-in perfect conditions my srv breaks 100 mph limit(by gps)
-pipe and jets are stock
-decker has made pipes for srv
- in eighties srv was used in snocross and it was head of its time, very fast sled.(european champion)
-totaltek(totaltek was same to LYNX snowmobiles than bender for yamaha) made engines and pipes for snowX to srv and what i have talked to Tiittanen who still owns totaltek - he said that 34 mm twin carbs are better to srv than 38 what are too big.
They had even twin pipes for srv
i hope this helps u

RPC used to make a twin carb set-up for the SRV, it might be worth making a phone call.
Aaen still makes a single pipe for them too, 6hp for $295.
