My sons' 2001 Phazer just started revving really high before engaging the clutch. It used to be about 4000 rpm, now it's over 6000, then it grabs hard. The belt was new 80 miles ago. He thinks it's because the belt got wet in fresh snow today but I'm not so sure because it's consistant. Any ideas?

This turned out to be a broken motor mount. As the engine was allowed to rotate up, the belt became too loose, which caused the rpms to be really high when it finally grabbed.
