Yesterday i was ridin my 02 srx and the temp light came on,heat exchangers where not warm at all,and i open the cap for my overflow bottle and i noticed slush at the bottom,i waited a while and took it home. IS it true when the temp light comes on its too late??

not always...depends how quick you notice it...
Sounds like you have too much water and not enough anti-freeze.
Check for any cracks, if the overflow bottle was slushy and not solid you might be lucky. Warm up the entire machine, and start engine warm entire cooling system. Check for any leaks, drain some coolant and add enough antifreeze for at minimum -40*f. I have mine set for -50*f.
