hello, my sled is leaking coolant on the left side right where the rear part of the suspension bolts on, looks like it comming from the left rad but i cant sceem to find the leak can anyone help?

i am putting on an aftermarket can and i dont know the brand, should i re-jet? if so what size should i go with, im also putting reed spacers on it same time,

my speedo dont work but everything else works fine, what should i look for? sometimes my lights quit and i have to shut it down and fire it back up to make it work again

i have a hesitation problem when i just pin it from a dead stock, bogs then cuts in, and i have to give it a bit of fuel when starting it when warm

what are the best plugs to run in my sled?

thanks in advance any help would be great

Welcome to TY.

First off you have several possible problems to look at:
Leak from coolant - need to find where, it can travel to the hole. Could be loose tube, engine, cracked container, etc.
Wire problem: due a search for viper harness to fix. This should fix the speedo plus.
Clean carbs: Set to stock if using stock everything. There is a write up in the tech section on this too.
NGK br9es

Not sure on the can. There are lots of pro and cons on the can from other people.

good luck

Only a suggestion...

You might try getting all current kinks sorted out before making changes from stock.

Definetly clean carbs and tune them for your conditions.

sled was just serviced, still have a hesitation, and the coolant is comming from the high end of the left cooler on the running board towards the rear of sled,

im going to seach them ads and see what i come up with

thanks guys

Remove the rear plastic cover and see if its coming from the hose. Put a proper gear clamp on it.

Reed spacer trick is for the red non-pv motors. Doesn't gain you much (if anything) on a Viper. I'm guessing you are doing that to increase performance, which is exactly what a can will NOT do for you on a Viper. Leave it stock!

Sounds like a loose ground some where, or a harness rub through. Speedo pickup is located below secondary clutch. Start by removing the clutch and checking the wires and drive shaft bearing.

Yamaha triples (PV'd ones anyway) like to have the throttle open about a 1/4 when started (warm or cold). Hesitation could be caused by clutching, jetting or the wire harness rub through?!?!

ok ill check that stuff out, thanks Yamerdown, i know i will looke power from a can, just want to get a few back, i thought reed spacer would help with the hesitaion problem and help out a bit in performance, should i re-jet if using a aftermarket can?

Try flipping the choke and then pinning it, see if it helps the bog. If it does, could need to turn the fuel screws out a little more. 1-7/8 turns out from lightly seated is stock setting. If you have to go more than 2-1/4 turns out, go up the next size pilot jets and start at 1-7/8 again. Before doing any of this, verify that the pilot jets are clean. I've seen many "just cleaned" carbs that still have blockage in the pilots.

Can you explain in more detail what you mean about the display/speedo and the light going out? There seems to be a stator problem with Vipers, could be your issue. Could also just be a rub in the harness, might go hand-in-hand with your bog off the line also.

The manufactorer (that's gotta be spelled wrong, looks funny, lol) of whatever brand can you buy should be able to recommend if/what jetting changes you need.

By the way, if you post your questions in the SRX, VIPER section you'll get tons more exposure.
