i have a 98 srx 700 and the past weekend i lost power...drove it back to the cabin about 25 miles, i got her home and i figured out i lost compression in clutch side cylinder..didnt do a compression test or even take it apart yet.. i can just tell with putting my finger over the hole and pull it over that there is way not as much as the others....
so i guess im just wondering what year srx motor will fit into my sled with little or no changes...might put a new one in rather than fix... just turned 10,250 miles with one full rebuild around 4,200 miles...
(just had to be the weekend i was riding with all Polaris's.....boy did i get crap from them)

Engine
ANything newer than a 2000 uses the 300 watt system and the mag is much smaller which puts the pickup in a diff position but I would go with the 300watt system if at all possible. Im just not sure what wires/volt changes there are. I used a 98 in my 2000 and had to make a adapter plate to fix the pickup issue.

if you want no changes find a 98 or 99 engine..if you want a little project & have a better sled after words put a 2000 or newer in it.
