im out of ideas i keep replacing in the small connecting cable off the driveshaft to the speedo and my sled keeps snapping them. anybody have any ideas why? the last thing i can think of is the long cable is getting bent too much at the hood causing it to stop. any ideas how to get the peices out now would help too. they either snap or unwind.
everything from the 90 degree turn works good.

Is your bearing going out? Is your speedo gear housing bent?

nope, everything is new.

If the bearing and the housing are new, then it's probably the cable. You can unscrew it from the the both ends and try spinning it with the hood almost closed.

I had a main speedo cable a long time ago which somehow had gotten some moisture inside the housing. I would replace the little union cable while in the shop and all was good, let set outside overnight and next day would twist up union cable. I was scratching my head??? I would replace the main cable assy.

I had a problem like this and it was because I had too much grease in the housing. When real cold it would snap the speedo key that drives the speedo gear. I clean the mass of grease out of the cup and it fixed it.

Remove the gear housing, install an new cable union into gear housing spin union with a cordless drill in reverse. this should spin and allow you to test the cables, gear housing and speedo. How is the brg on the drive shaft? if drive shaft is out align with gear housing cable union could be stressed and wear quickly

How's the drive shaft? If your still breaking stuff maybe your shaft is bent.
Just a thought.
