Pictures of a 2000 SRX with engine Removal!!!

I did a search onengine rebuild and looked at this thread.Got the motor out without any help.Hope I can get it back in myself. The oil line will be the challenge.Got it plugged now,but when it is time to connect,I'll have to take the plug off from the end..jiggle it into place while holding motor on weird angle.Hpw much oil will dump out all over the sled before I can get it in place...have to think on that one.Maybe empty the oil tank before hand... :dunno:

Just pulled the wire from my 03 Viper to look for rub through, didn't find any like that but a few areas where the tape had some scuffing. I taped it up and then wrapped the harness with some of that plastic wrap you find in an auto store. That should do the trick.

when 2000srx sled is cleaned up its the best lookin srx i hav ever seen, and his products and customer service is top notch, i just bought some carbides from him, cant wait to try them

that head was like that a few years back when I bought the sled.I noticed the wire harness that is right behind the rad hose pretty damn flattened but not cut thru. Will re-route that for sure.I cleaned the whole inside of the engine compartment.I took the water pump cover off just to take a look. When I put the cover back on,even though it has a gasket..can I place a film of silicone all around just for safe measure.Gasket is not torn or anything, but like to do this as a extra measure.
Now can I put the engine back in now.I am not going to tear the engine open.Don`t think I feel comfortable doing it.I can see thru the exhaust side the pistons and they look clean,no real blow- by down the pistons.I will take my chances and run the hell out of the motor. If she ever goes one day, that is the time the re-build will happen.Compression numbers are good..119,120,120 yet.

Thanks, I wish my sled were still as clean as it used to be. I will hopefully have time to do some changes to it this year and clean it all up once again. Maybe I will get it back to looking like this...

Everything aluminum on the sled was polished. So the entire engine was all sanded and polished. It is very scary holding a cylinder in your hand to a polishing wheel that could just grab it and throw it. I had a death grip on those cylinders and heads when I polished them. lol

I have been working on my sled for a long time now and I have just about the entire sled apart. I took it apart because I am just doing a entire clean up on the sled and many mods. Here are many pictures of how it is coming along. I just got some rear viper shocks to put into my rear suspension and I am doing a lot of other things also. These pictures are mainly pictures with my engine out and my chaincase. The last thing I am going to take apart is the front suspension (I think that is the only thing left for me to take apart) to clean it all up I dont think I am going to remember how to put it all back together. To much stuff is apart, here are the pictures. Thanks for looking

While you're in there, debur the sharp edges of all the stamped pieces to avoid getting cut up in the future.
