I no longer have my work email. So if anybody was trying to get ahold of me that way, please retry. I have updated my profile with my home email address. I will not be able to be online very much for a while, so email or PM (which gives me an email note) is the best way to reach me.

Happy sleddin to all!!!

I am 1 of 200 whose jobs were eliminated. Too early to tell if it is good or bad.

Man that blows. Maybe you can tackle that garage now.....JK! Good luck with the career planning! If you find a way to make millions while surfing TY, let me in on it......

I was thinking that might be the reason.

Keep your head up! It might work out better in the end.

I lost my Engineering job last June. I really was not expecting it. I ended up opening up my own buisiness speciallizing in boat managment and repair. I have to say it was the best thing that happened to us. My wife, son and I spend more time together and really love the freedom of owning your own buisiness. Just remember "The wind from one door closing, opens another" Good luck Al

Sorry to hear that Ding. I was thinking about a few guys I know that live in your area when I read about the plant that closed this week. I wish you luck.

Your actually the second guy I know who lives in Howell that lost his job in the last month. The other was a V.P. at a local company (not auto related) so it really does not matter what it is you do for a living you can find yourself out of work.

Thanks for the support guys. There seems to be more work out there than I thought. I just likely have to travel more.

That's good to hear.

FWIW, I was laid off today as well not for performance, but due to "the economy"......one of 8 in a 50 person company. I don't buy the economy thing because we had a 25 mil year in 08 with the best profit margin ever.

Luckily I started looking before I got the axe, and on Tuesday I had a phone interview that went well. Hopefully I get a call back for a in person interview.

Luckily also for me, my live in GF is a rep for Monster/jobnoggin.com. So she searches for me every day:)

Good luck to both of you. Never met either one of you, but based on your reasoned and knowledgeable posts, I suspect you guys are in high demand.

John
