I am planning on riding from Alba/Mancelona to Irons MI 49644. Looking for a nice scenic route to take. Looking to hit some forest roads that zig zag main trails. Approxiamately how many miles is it. Gonna head back to Mancelona the next day and would like to take a different route back. Trail numbers would be nice. but just cities is OK. Maybe hit some off trail along the way as well.
Here is a route, from Mancelona which is doable.
From Mancelona:
North on trail 768 to intesection 4/76
Go South/East on 4/76 to 76 south
76 South to 6, Go west on 6 to Parking lot
Parking lot is Just North of Manton
From Parking lot you will have to road run to Mesick
From Parking lot take E 10 Rd. west to N 31 Rd.
Go South on N 31 Rd. to E 14 Rd.
Go West on E 14 Rd. to St. Rd. 37
Run 37 ditch one mile South to Mesick.
Fill up with gas at Mesick
From Mesick Take trail 379 South to trail 37 south
Go on 37 south to 637 West
You are now in the Caberfe trail system
Take 637 west/ south to trail 6
Go west on 6 to trail 3 south
Take 3 south to County line Rd. You will see signs for Irons at this intersection
Take County line rd trail straight into Irons.
