i have purchased a 1997 venture 600 with smart carbs. i have three issues that might be the same problem. a flickering oil light , a starter that will only occasionaly turn , and smart carbs are not working properly at past 6000 rpm.
im guessing a bad ground. im just curious were it is actualy located.
the carbs have just been cleaned, a new set of plugs, i also put new plug caps just to be sure. the oil tank is full and i just put a brand new battery. and i can hear the relay starter click when i turn the key but the starter doesnt turn. the motor runs nice and smooth below 6000rpm it has a nice idle too. i even did a compression test on motor, both cylinders show a good number.
any help would be appreciated !!!!
