I have a cottage up in Port Sanilac, I haven't been able to get on the newer trail system that runs from Yale to Forester. Just wondering if anyone here has been on them and what they think? Im planning on going up this weekend anyone else? Anyone here have a map of the trails also?

Nice to know there is trails that close to me. I can run up for the day and come home that evening. I may have to check those out.
That's interesting.
My inlaws live in Yale and I didn't know anything about any trails there.
If someone has the poop please share it!

Ive been trying to get a trail map, but you have to buy them. I will have a map after this weekend and I can let everyone here know how the trails are. Here is a link to a snowmobile club that rides the trails and a there is a link to the trail conditions. http://www.thumbsupsnowmobileclub.org/
The trails are pretty new I believe this is the 2nd or 3rd year they have been open.

I found Thumbs Up but didn't see anything about Yale on their site.
All they talk about is Ruth, Minden City and Deckerville. They're a long way from Yale.
It would be cool if they went there, it would make for a nice days ride from Yale to Ruth and back.

My buddies dads place is in Yale and I guess the Trail ends there and goes all the way to Forester. He's ridden the trails and says they are pretty good. Pretty good ride from Yale to Forester descent amount of miles, but yeah I know for a fact you can go to Yale or start from Yale. I'm going to get a trail map this weekend and I plan on going to buddies dads that's in Yale, so Ill let ya know.

I just sent them an e-mail asking about where their trail network goes.
I also found a listing of places that have their trail maps and asked my Mother In Law to pick one up from the place in Yale. I'll keep ya'll posted as well.
We may have to have a SE Michigan Chapter TY Ride in the near future.

The Mother Inlaw called and she looked into the trail maps for me.
The trail goes to Sandusky and Deckerville and Ruth.
Nothing goes to Yale

I'll talk to my buddy ask him how they got from Yale to Forester.

I'm pretty sure there is a "rails to trails" trail that goes through Yale but they typically are not kind to snowmobiles.
I'll send an e-mail to EMC (they're just south of Yale) and ask if they know anything about it.

EMC is the place the M-Inlaw talked to.
They're listed as a place to buy Thumbs Up trail maps.
I guess that answers that question.
I guess so. It's a bummer. I was hoping to be able to do day rides from the inlaws. Yale to Forester or Ruth and back would have been some nice long rides.
The part of the trail that I saw on Sunday was snirt, but that of course was by the roads. It goes along M-46 west of Sandusky for a ways. There is also a trail near M-25 up by Forrester that was dirty where I could see it. I guess you would be riding though. Snow is a little deeper near the shore and south, than it is west and north.

Anybody riding these trails this week end? thinking about checking it out some saturday. minden City and Deckerville way.
I didnt get a chance to go up like I had planned, but I will be there this saturday. Not sure when Ill be up or be on the trails, but ill be there. I talked to my buddy whos dad is in Yale. He told me they go right from his house and down a few diff roads and cut through some spots and get to the trails. I havent personally done it from Yale so I have no idea on where they cut through and all that, but he made it sound like no big deal. Ill try to get a map up or something.

I'll be starting just south of Forester in Port Sanilac. I need to find a way to get to the trails from there. I am searching for a way to get on the trails now. I know the guys from thumbs up snowmobile club meet at the stone lodge, which is in town in Port Sanilac, so Im sure it isnt that far from there. I will be meeting up with my buddy somewhere near sandusky. I will most likely just buy a trail map when I get into town up there saturday afternoon around 4pm.
