Are you able to change the oil seals on the inside of the gear case without having to remove the track? I was wondering if you could just pull the gear case itself off, without taking the track off. I seem to be losing fluid somewhere, and it is not around the cover's seal, or the drain plug, and would attempt this if the track would not have to come out. Thanks

I think you should be able to. You would need to take off the inside chain case housing.

That is the quickes way to change that seal...pull off the chain case... then you can also check your bearings.

Yes. I replaced a jackshaft bearing on the trail once, so it can be done fairly quick. Be sure to loosen the track first. Catch the oil in a container and take the brake caliper off but do not take it apart. Then pull the case off.
