I've been starting to hear a bit of a clunking noise sometimes on hard acceleration and sometimes on a hard brake. What should I be looking to repair??

You either got a loose track or you have a loose brake or chain case tension is not set properly!!!!

I just recently put a new belt on as the old one was worn so that should be good. I'm thinking it may be the chain case tension. How do I check that an adjust accordinly?

YOUR GONNA NEED TO PULL YOUR PIPES. SEE CHAINCASES ARE NICE TO YA. THEY DO GIVE YA A SLIGHT WARNING, IF YA IGNORE, YOU YOU WILL TAKE OUT CASE, COVER, CHAIN etc. LOOSEIN UP THAT LOCK - NUT BELOW YOUR DIP STICK. THAN TURN BOLT IN UNTIL HAND TIGHT AND IT GETS HARD. THAN TAKE A BOX WRENCH AND GO ANOTHER 1/2. LOCK THE LOCKNUT BACK UP AND GO TRY IT. DUDE IF NOISE IS STILL THERE, YOU EITHER HAVE ANOTHER ISSUE OR YOU MIGHT NEED TO TAKE COVER OFF CHAINCASE AND INSPECT. ALSO, JUST BECAUSE YOU HAVE A NEW BELT, DOSE NOT MEAN YOU DID NOT BURN A SPOT IN IT. 3:16 (yammie tony)

Could be the clutch making the noise

Are you studded if so is your track tight enough ,if your track is not tight enough it will expand under hard exceleration causing your studs to hit the tunnel.

Just happened to my buddy on his 600SRX a couple weeks ago. I rode it too and felt the clunk on take off and braking. Turned out his chained was really stretched and it was out of tension. He ended up putting on a new chain and all is cured.

I'm with you Dave. Snug bolt, then loosen just a 1/8 turn, then while holding bolt in that position tighten jam nut.

if you take your belt off you should be able to tell by moving the secondary back and forth with the machine sitting on the ground so that the track doesn't move. There should be some free play but no more then 1/4" or less when you move the secondary back and forth. If more then that then you need to tighten your chain such as suggested above. finger tight then back off 1/8 to 1/4" and lock it in place. at least this is the way i check it unless I'm replacing the oil then i remove the cover and check everything then.

I'll pull her into the garage this afternoon and check it out tomorrow. Hopefully I just need to adjust the tension. Thanks for the replies.

I agree with Dave, only finger tight on that chain tension nut.

Took the pipes off and got the tension tightend up. I would say i turned it in by at least 3-4 turns or more. Going to replace the oil in the chain case since I got the pipes off. Stopping after work to get some oil for it and then I'll get it back together and take it for a test run.
