If you gonna rape that beautiful sled, i suggest to change whole skid as well to loose some 10kg...

rape!? well, its always a way back. i want to try out MM this winter, so why not built one myself!?

what is "skid" ? (sorry about the english, i dont understand all of it)

SRX500,

Cool project. I recently bought a 96 Mountain Max and I am currently restoring it. I bought it from a guy here in my town and it has 3400 miles on it. It is pretty clean now but really going to go thru it. It had some motor issue's that are being fixed now. I will post some pictures. Keep the pictures coming.

BWS

I just thought this kind of sleds must remain as stock as possible. It's just mu opinion :)

I meant with skid that you could change whole rear suspenssion to something better for mountaing riding.

Yes, also my english sucks...

okey but i think the Mountain Max is a nice sled to :) i want one! ;)

i'm gonna buy a 1997 Vmax 4 with stock hydraulic brakes this year, thats a nice sled.

Day 3 and 4:

engine line up, carbs, pumps, radiator + + +

its almost stock, this one is a bit higher and maybe better in deep snow.

The new ski's arrived today, looking forward to try it out :)

A guy here in Norway have 8 of this V-max 4 sleds, they're all parked at the same place :) one of them is a 1997 mod, thats one nice sled that i really want to buy from him!

Very nice! You work very quickly as well. I like your shop space too, looks like you got plenty of room to throw wrenches!

yes I have a lot of space in there to work on.

I order a new starter and a lot of small detaljed parts for the sled, so its not in use right now. it starts wery easy so I belive everything is okey with it.

When the season its over, I will strip it down again and repaint the tunnel. And if I dont like the Mountain Max style I will rebuilt it back to 307 (short).

:2strokes: 4 sylinders ;)!

looking for front bumper panel and front side panels, if you know of any let me know.
Have you tried it out on snow yet? :) Vurderer og forlenge ski-doo MXZ understellet jeg har på vmax4ern. men det må nok bli et sommer prosjekt..
