powermadd handguard mount problem

i bought some power madd star series hand guards for my 2001 sxr and i can not get the star series mount kit to fit on the side with the brake if anyone has had this problem let me know and if you have them and have know problems please help.

I have them on mine (99 700sx) and they seem to fit fine. What seems to be the problem?

the brake side the parking brake wil not lock down becuse the mount is in the way. i found some info on it and alot of people say to use the rox kits and they are out of stock. pics would help if you got any on how you got them in maybee i got them on wrong.

I have them on my 2001 sxr, I will try and post a pic tomorrow of the install.

I had the same problem, i just used a disc grinder and took enough off the top of the mount so the parking brake lever would come down.

This is how mine is mounted, yes the parking brake does touch but it still works fine.

Mount them so they come from under neath. It is amazing how well it works. Maxdlx

thannks for the pic did you put your other hand guard between the grip and throttle or just before it.

Mine worked on my 01sxr, i put them on the right side off the brake, and the mount went from the bottom.

Never thought of mounting from under, will have to look at that after this weekend.
