hey guys great site. noticed a transfer rod mod on tech pages to make rods adjustable. wondering if that mod will work for rods on my 96 600 xt and if it is worth the time and effort thanks
I made them for my 00 sxr they work good it takes a little to tune them in. Yes they will work on you xt as long as it has transfer rods

sxrjoe, how hard was it it to do the transfer rod mod? What exactly do you need and how long did it take you?

How much better would the stock warriors rods be on a 96 XT6. Compared to the stock XTs rods.

Front end of sled is so heavy. More gap at upper end of rod may improve ride comfort.

I have cut the upper Teflon washer off. It did make a difference.Front end of sled is so heavy. More gap at upper end of rod may improve ride comfort.

You can cut some materiel off of the top of the lower mount down to help transfer. If you cut too much and are getting too much transfer you can add washers back to adjust.

Does the Viper or Warrior x-fer rods offer more transfer than 96 XT rods?

I have a set of stock viper rods here and the nuts set to full transfer it has 3/4" gap with the 1/8" Teflon washer. The aftermarket rods have 1 1/16" gap with the 1/8" Teflon washer. The aftermarkets also have a thick Teflon spacer on the bottom that is 5/8" thick.
