Looking to put a Can on my 99 V-mAx 700, I use it mainly for ice fishing/back country riding so trail riding is not an issue. Looking to find a can that at WOT gives the BRAP but isn't annoying while cruising down the lakes any ideas.
Been leaning towards the MBRP trail can any other hints >?

I am running a sno-stuff rumble pack on my 98 700,and it sounds out of this world, incredible sound, not to loud, but defiantly grabs attention when i get on it. I am very happy with it.

MBRP makes 2 cans, a race (very loud) and a trail (louder than stock, but i liked it) Bender can is very very loud, i had one, sold it, way to loud. you can drill your stock exaust and get the same thing.
with "get the same thing" you meen very very loud??
I planned to drill my stock exhaust but won't do it if it's very loud when cruising.. If you drill it, there's no going back

By drilling the silencer/muffler the sled gets alittle louder not by much because it by passes the last chamber and releaves some ofthe exhaust pressure. To me it makes the sled sound funny, meaning it has a weird tone, to me, but those that do it like it.

So you can drill your stock exhaust? Is there a certain spot to drill it? How big should the holes be?

go to the tech section..it's all in there.Did mine a few years back.2" holesaw with an extension helps. I also have the sno stuff can for my 600 and it sounds wicked also.It will turn other sledders heads when you pass them and nail it.

I did'nt care for the drilled stock muffler overall, at times it has a strange resonance and echoes off things and this sounds bad.It did sound really cool rolling on the throttle in the midrange, but I still did'nt like it overall.Sometimes it was just as quiet as stock and other times its quite loud, it even depends on the angle the sled is sitting on and how hard the surface is.

I had a sno-stuff can on my 99' 700 and it was so loud it hurt my ears lol. It was even louder than my triple pipes. But it did sound awesome.
