i have recently had a fight whith someone because he said snowmobiling should not be a sport. Just want to know what any of you guys think about people saying that snowmobiling should not be a sport.

I consider it a sport. Here is the definition. Sounds like someone was just looking for an argument.

sport Definition
sport (spôrt)

noun

any activity or experience that gives enjoyment or recreation; pastime; diversion

Doesn't seem worth fighting over what other people think. A sport for me is something I enjoy regardless of what other folks think.

Have him ride a yamaha for 100+ miles at a fast pace. Next weekend play a game of tackle football. See after witch one his body is the most sore and he's tired from. ;)! Sledding is not only fun but one heck of a workout.

For me a sport needs to have competitive aspect to it. Driving a 200 mile loop stopping at gas stations, restaurants and hotels is not competitive. Snowmobiling becomes a sport when honest competition is added (snow-x, radar runs, drag races, hill climb, etc). Otherwise it is a recreation.

Not bashing, just my opinion. FYI - when I do a 200 mile loop, its a sport. First guy back gets all the beer and wins, lol.

If Equestrian can be a sport sure as hell sleddin' is....

I agree.

And a worse example of a sport is bowling.

If bowling is considered a sport, snowmobiling better be.
