if you want to advance the timing, use an offset keyway.

what is a quid? lol a keyway is easier then notching? i dont think the stock class will allow a key in radar running around here

The stock class will not allow the timing to be advanced. Then again, nobody is going to pull your flywheel off to check your timing in the stock class.

Funny you mention. I switched out my stator last year and thought pickup coil had worn a bit but looks like someone notched it out.

I doubt they would notice an offset keyway. It's not any different than the other mod you mentioned in that it still is not stock.
I heard that the first year SRX's had a more advanced timing, or that the later ones had more reatded timing. Whatever way you want to look at it.

If they're going deep enough to find an offset key, they'll find hogged out holes.
