Has anyone ridden the "new" front end on the Nytro? I would to know how the XTX will turn in the woods. Is it that different than the RTX to push through the woods? Looking to buy this week.

yes from my experience riding both of them there is going to be more push through the woods....when it comes to fx nytro in general they are not the best trail sled in any case!!! Then add the extra track and you are going to notice it....But you are also going to notice the extra track when it comes to bridging bumps and in the powder too!!! So it comes down to how you ride and where you ride!!! I would rather have a rtx with a 1.5" track!!! But I also don't ride in the mountains and I am a smaller guy so the xtx is a little harder for me to throw around....MY .02 Cents!!!!!!!

Depending on the bush trail, your 07 Phazer would be faster. You can get the XTX to move but in general, the whole FX Nytro takes more rider input to blast through the twisties. I have no issue with my MTX on the trails(well except for sliders ;)! ), but my whole group has taken it down a notch over the last ten years.

Yeah - I knew the Phazer would be the best in the twisties (especially when I added some SLP P Pro Skiis) the problem is once the woods end and turn into fields or logging roads the Phazer is a boat anchor. I would like to be able to run with the 800 Doos on the straights and still haul the mail in the woods with confidence and not be a tree ornament. Thanks for the post.

If you are doing mostly trail riding an Apex might be better suited for you. A lot more power than the phazer and a little more than the nytro.

I agree with these to above......The apex is a lot better on the trail!!! It is not so harsh and snappy!!!!

I like the nytros, the 09s do steer better, but the nytro as a sled line is designed to be man handled around. I rode an 09 xtx back to back with an 08 rtx last February. The difference was huge from the front end of the 09, despite the extra track length.

Also, if you want to hang with 800 doos on the lake, the nytro isn't that fast. The apex would be better for that, and even the 10 less hp vector is a faster top speed sled than the fx nytro.

bud picked up a '09 Nytro RTX SE. that thing steers like a tank! and the bars are only 27 inches wide! i haven't been working out enough to steer it through the trails. my viper feels like it has power steering. since i first rode it, he has done a ton of changes and it has gotten better but not enough for me to even CONSIDER buying one. there is so much weight and ski pressure, it is not even funny.

I agree with Thumper-- I tried an 09 XTX for the first time today at a demo for about ten minutes. The conditions weren't the best(all powder on an oval track), but it seemed hard to handle. It just wanted to go straight and my arms were feeling it pretty quick. Now the Apex RTX was a big difference, that thing was a blast with twice the snap and handled much better. Just my 2cents worth, not really enough seat time for a good evaluation. Wished I could've tried them on groomed trails.
