Anyone use Amsoil Dominator 2 cycle oil?

TELL YA THE TRUTH, IF YOU WERE TO CALL AMSOIL AND I HAVE A MILLION TIMES, THEY PROBLEY TELL YA JUST WHAT I POST. THIS OIL CAN BE USED IN A PRE-MIX APP OR OIL INJECTION WHERE INTERCEPTOR CAN NOT. SO YOU WILL SAY THAT DON,T REFER TO ME , NO IT DOSE NOT. THATS THEIR HIGH HP RACING OIL. I BET A MONTHS PAY THEY RECOMEND INTERCEPTOR. DUDE, YOUR AT ALITTLE OVERKILL, BUT RUN WHAT YA WANT. THIS OIL IT IS RECOMENDED FOR EXTREME RACING CONDITIONS. 3:16 (yammie tony)

I think what a lot of people are trying to get at is the intercetor is cheaper but if you want to spend the extra money on the dominator then go for it. They both work great!!

"AMSOIL INTERCEPTOR virtually eliminates hard carbon deposits that cause exhaust power valve sticking, ring sticking and pre-detonation promoting "hot spots" in the combustion chamber"

i run dominator in all my 2 stokes from my kids mx race bike to the wifes z440 and my 780 srx i have blown belts at 9k and spun it to over 11000 and still has original rins and pistons untouched also my kx250 which is a 1988 with original piston

"THIS OIL IT IS RECOMENDED FOR EXTREME RACING CONDITIONS" That why i use the dominator, When i ride my srx i'm harder on it than a day full of racing and want the piece mind i'm getting the best protection i can get

The dominator is what I run for one reason.....I raced motocross for 12 years went from the 125 novice class all the way to 250 expert. Mixed my oil 50:1 NEVER grenaded or blew a motor. And trust me, I ran the piss out of my bikes !!! And the motor was usually rebuilt once a year in the winter (my 250's) never during the season and the cylinders still looked like they were freshly honed. The Dominator is Amsoil's "race" oil. The interceptor is more of a recreational oil. Both work fine and are great oils in my honest opinion.

ATF - Will that keep my valves cleaner than a good syn. oil? Will I still have to adjust them or will the slipperyness of the oil keep them adjusted for me? How much performance will I gain by switching to ATF over 2 stroke oil? Will my clutching have to be changed? How about my jetting? Will this allow me to run a 2" track without removing the protectors? Will I need to fix the wiring harness rub through if I do this or will the ATF make it so I won't notice my lights not working?

Oh the questions this brings up Daman. You opened a whole can of worms now:(

Just to clarify the above ???'s. I'm kidding :) :)

Use Klots. Smells great and works best. Smells like bounty sheets when you ride down the trail. Bounty being the paper like sheet you put in the dryer with your clothes. Smells like flowers when you sit and idle to warm up.

smells good yes, but leaves the inside of your motor all dirty/gunky. i've rebuilt a ktm50 bike for a fellow, that ran on nothing but klotz since day 1 and i've never seen such carbon and milky looking buildup in my life. the exhaust port was half blocked by carbon deposits and there was this wierd whitish/oily/milky substance left all over the crank and rod bearings. i would never run this stuff in any of my toys. i don't mind riding behind people on the trail that run this stuff, cause it does smell nice.

Amsoil says to keep the mixing of oils to a minimum. I have been running yamalube and am going to switch to Interceptor. How much is too much? Just planned on running the oil down so it does not suck air, but is real low. should be good right? Just wondering..

i wouldn't worry to much about that..i think the warning is more for people who mix deferent brands alot, one tank of mixed oil isn't going to hurt your motor,i'd rather mix them then run my tank down low enough that it doesn't suck air.
IMO of course ;)!

i run interceptor in my 98 srx 700... i went up north for a weekend and my amsoil dealer was out of it... so i ran Dominator..... about 100 miles into the ride(about the time the interceptor was ran out) i melted 2 pistons!!! never had a problem with my sled running wise..

did a engine rebuild last season including rings bearings and everything cuz im now at 10,000 miles.... just cleaned carbs few weeks ago also...

not sure if it was because of switching oil or not...... believer in sticking to one oil!!

oil is not what caused the failure. it was a mechanical failure. you had some sort of a lean condition going on there somewhere. oils don't make engines blow up....poor maintanance and lean conditions do. you could run the cheapest wal-mart oil and your sled won't blow up. better oils just provide a cleaner burn and better wear protection etc, on your engine's components. cheaper oils burn dirtier and like to carbon exhaust ports up and not provide the best wear protection for longevity....meaning your sled could go 10,000 miles on a quality synthetic oil before a rebuild, while the engine on cheap oil would maybe go 5000-6000 miles before a rebuild. either way, the oil isn't what causes the piston siezures. you had something else going on w/your sled. people, please don't blame engine failures on the oils!
