well anyone want to ask how my buddy made out with his rx1 against my vmax4...well i will tell you he got beat bad..lol :nos:
 
There not even in the same time zone. it,s like a rx-1 racing a 500 twin.

They were advertised as 145hp.
Must be something to do with the gear reduction or something. The r1 motors, even the first ones had bare minimum 140 wheel hp on a wheel dyno.
 
Any ad that I have seen was 140hp. I remember some of the earlier sled mag reviews on the RX-1 said they were hitting 126-130mph, we all know that was bs. Yamaha has always been a little optimistic when publishing HP figures. I remember when the 98 SRX7 came out, they were supposed to be 140hp, anyone that I have seen on a dyno was around 135hp.
 
135 dyno hp isn't too far off of 140 hp for the srx.

Now 133 is like 12 hp less than advertised. To me that is a big deal. I am used to reported dyno hp of sleds being pretty close, if not higher than advertised.

Since we are talking about real hp of yamaha's, what does the new fx nytro put out on an engine dyno? They claim it at 130 hp.
 
I dunno, my bud's 05 RX1 would always beat me by a sled when we took off from a roll,...when we launched from a dead stop i would always win, but..i have 192 studs, he has none... The RX1s aren't as slow as some people think..
 
horkn, the FX Nytros were dynoed at 138 hp, 8 hp more than advertised, pretty darn close to an RX-1, and as for RX-1's/Warriors hitting 126-130 mph, they're pretty close, i'd say at least 120 mph.

i hope this is in my horespower range.... xcr800...and the winner is vmax4 and no i'm not looking for these races... it was the wife and i out for a ride today and this guy pulled up when we were running down the Grand River and i guess he thought he was fast..lol

no problem with your ported v4 ;)!,hell stock...lol
 
i used to eat rx-1's for lunch on my srx all the time.but i never went a mile or nowhere close which im sure it would have grown legs on me & went by.v-max 4's would tear me up after a good 600' or better so this victory is no surprize to me.

That does not surprise me either.
He has half as many cylinders, and only one pipe probably.
