'04 sxvenom no electrical after start up

hey all-- just got back from st germaine area from 5 days of riding----was great now have about 500 miles on this new beauty..... heres the problem.....on the first nite of riding after trailering up there, went to start the sled and got no gauge light up, no rpm indication and no head/taillights. this was with one minute of idle power. restarted the sled then the guage came back no running lites but hi beam only.... them retsrted again and got it all. happened the second day with no head lites only but retasrted sled and they came right back.... only thing out of the ordinary was the temp........... -26*f.... is this a precursor of an electrical problem down the road or was this seemingly cold related?

I have this happen on my '06 Venom and '06 Vector when it gets really cold. Relays and such are a little slow to react. I think you will find it is pretty common. My buddies Apex won't start if its -15F without warming up the fuel injection/fuel pump relay. :2strokes:
 
My dash and my headlights sometimes don't start up right away if it's cold out. I do the same thing, shut it down and start it back up. Usually always come back on.
 
thanks for the info... makes me feel better. hit 104 on the speedo one day on the lake.... love the power band on this thing.... it just wants to grab and go.
