I was out in ST GERMAIN last weekend and had something happen to my SRX I never had happen before . At wide open throttle it seemed like the sled would hit 7900 to 8000 rpm and then start losing rpm . Almost like someone was holding the sled back. Any ideas??? Trail riding was fine only when I hit the lakes wide open did this happen..

could it be like a motor blow safe mode type of thing. i know that on my rage, attak, and nytro the computer will drop the RPM's if the engine gets too hot or about to blow

Its a 2000 This thing ran awsome on the trails . I will do a compresion check . Would the power valves cause this??? I thought about the clutching but I changed nothing to cause this the last trip this thing ran strong..

There is no safe mode, something is wrong.
Order I would look at things:
Read plugs, see what they say. They could point to carbs needing cleaned. Also check reeds.
Go through power valves, clean, check for pull-throughs, adjust.
Go through clutches looking for worn rollers, etc.
