I have done all the searching and research I can handle. I have a 05 sxv, stock clutch setup with typical over reving. Turks suggestion from my research was to add 4.5 to the inner. I did that and it is is much better, went from 9700 to 9000 rpm. Can some one tell me how to get it down another 400rpm.
Yes I know this has been beat to death but doing a massive amount of searching I can find the setup for my sled.
GGG primary
Red Secondary
47 deg helix
8dg 00 weights
4.5 added to inner
Their is no such thing as a stupid question, only stupid people

you could add a 1 oz washer to the 4.5 rivets(tip) but i don't think it would drop400 tho...
im guessing its a 600? if so thats the same set up i run exept a 51/43 helix and mine runs 8500 all the time check your belt maybe and if not look at your clutch weights when i bought my sled the cluth weights had a groove worn in them between the rivits its was a little dip about a heavy 1/16th of an inch and the primary woudent fully up shift but thats just guess

Speer, it was your post that I got the info from to go to the 4.5 inner, and yes mine is a SX Venom (600). Unless I was mistaken Turk told you to go back to the stock setup. Did that include leaving your 43/51 helix, and are you still running a YGY primary? Also I have no signifigant wear on any components, my sled has less than 5000km and I bought it new and it is VERY well cared for.

i put everything back to stock and it still reved high then i replaced the weights cause of the wearing on mine and it ran 8900rpm then i put the 4.5 gram rivits in the inner and it dropped down to 8500 8600 the other day we were doing short runs in the feild so i rapped the secondary a little tighter to around 90 and it ran about 9000rpm then when i loosend it off to 50 or 60 its right were its supose to be

You will not find a setup on here for a 600 Venom. But you will find one for a 600 SXR. Almost exact same sled. Look in the tech pages or do a search for setups for 600 triples. As for your first question on dropping rpm, 1gram of weight=100 rpm if I am not mistaken. So to drop another 400 rpm you would have to add another 4 grams total.

that seems like a lot of weight for a stocker !!!!
i donno all the 600s ive seen just rev higher than the 700cc red heads as long as is not rediculussly high like 13000 14000 it should be fine i dont think 9000rpm will hurt all of the sleds ive seen run that ish and non have blown i can personly say ive had my motor well above 12000rpm and nothings happend and my motors got 10000km on it
