Guys,
my 98 Vmax 600 quits at 80kmhr/50 mph. I just had the clutch rebuilt by a dealer, new belt, hyfax and plastic skis put on. The engine is very strong and pulls hard to 50 then won't rev higher, machine engages at around 2500 rpm and the top rpm on a very cold day is 5000. normally around 4800. Machine tops out then the rpm drops by about 200 and settles in. I seem to go through a fair bit of gas as I can only get an hour of driving on a full tank.
Lots of money and I'm tired of watching my neighbor driving while my machine is in the garage. Any ideas or help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance. :o|

I'm having the same problem with my 95 600. It gets to 45-50 mph and just bogs out and won't go anymore. Kind of like the plugs are fouled or something. I tore the carbs off and cleaned them up. Checked the choke cable. Then I fired it up, ran for 10 seconds, shut off, and now has no spark!

I heard that the TORS may be making it do that, but I'm not sure how to over ride it.

If it were TORS you can disconnect the two wires coming from the carbs. Reconnect the two wires that you pulled them out of. That engagement at 2500 sounds pretty low. Should be 3800-4000, I think. TORS usually limits the rpms to around 3000.
