Are there any good upgrades to the top shock on my XT it appears to have seized up after 500 miles (had it rebuilt last january) Anything to get some more travel.

Also where should i set the spring i am about 160 its about 50% of the way up which i am thinking is too stiff. Am I correct that it is what controls your rear compression.

I am calling/going there tomorrow as they need to repair it, they specialize in shocks and have a pretty good rep so i would hope they would take care of it.

Kinda sux cause i have to nock the needle bearing back out as they don't want them in there so they aren't responsible for them if they fall apart (thats what he said lastime at least.)

Its a real pain cause i want to go upnorth this weekend and would prefer to take the XT over the DX.

I don't remember 2000SRX from CB perf got them for me they are the OEM needlebearings, should have just switched it out to bushings they done pivot more then 15* not sure why they need actual bearings but hey they're there now so i am gonna use them. They aren't cheap though i almost thing it was 20 a pop or something like that.

well the piviot isn't the consern it's the sloping out getting hamerd and
egg shaped thats the fix, with the bearing it tighten's everything up.

Good point never really thought of that aspect. As mentioned they are there now so i am gonna keep using them.

Any Idea as far as the adjustment goes. The track doesn't have any studs so i am thinking of dropping the spring down to 1/4 compression instead of 1/2 way should inscrease the dampening i get as i am fairly light i think that would work out good. If not I can always turn them back up.

Wondering if i should adjust the front shock as well.

cool i will give her a go shes in the center right now so i will just back it down a little a see. Some bumps send me off the seat and i know the sled isn't bottoming out so i figure the shock is winning, however with that shock being bad this year its hard to say if it was ever right. Most of the miles have been in powder i would say only 100 on trails. I should know tomorrow if they are going to cover it. Hopefully have it back by the weekend.

Well went to drop it off yesterday he decided to go home early, so my dad dropped it off today and he wasn't too happy because they're is a small piece of rust on the rod (half a dime and not very deep or ruff) He said it was blown i guess so i am waiting to see what he is going to do and if i have to pay anything. I sure hope not. I wonder if anyone has an extra shock i can get ahold of, it looks like the trails will be a little sloppy from the temps this weekend so i think we are going to reschedule for the next weekend and see if we can get it back together by then.

Well we got it dropped off tuesday and he already got it back to me so definetly have to give him props for jumping it ahead of the others. It did cost me 40bux but i can't really complain the piston cracked inside letting oil mix with the gas he put in another piston recharged it and replaced the schrader valve so thats not too bad and it was done in 1 day. Now if the warm spell misses i will be happy or at least if we get some new snow after words.

Yep might help up north to get upper 30s for a day just so the rain stays away. Then they can work them a little smoother which based on my last trip isn't all that far away.

Just glad the problem was found and should be back together and ready to go this weekend figure i might as well wait to put it in when its like 40 degrees instead of the balmy 3* i have right now
