heard this shop closed its doors last week. too bad, cause this dealer has been the Illinois Snowmobile Dealer of the year a couple of times in the past. bud hasn't recieved his $300 check from Yamaha yet so hope this doesn't affect it.

More and more are closing up. We just lost our good b&m store about 2-3 months ago. Team Alpine was there for years and now gone. We still have Shawmut Hills but they are overpriced and a bunch of a$$holes out there. Unless your there to spend big $ your just a pee-on. With the way the economy is going maybe they will change their attitudes.

The YAMAHA dealer in CHRISTMAS MICHIGAN went out of business!!! Kinda sad,,because I had to drive to ISHPEMING for parts!!!

The Yamaha motorcycle dealer by South park mall in rock Island just added sleds, maybe Yamaha made them. Christmas has been a roller coaster open close store for 5 years now. Maxdlx

Fun Mart sells them but i don't think they service them (or would want them to).

I had Magnum Powersports close unexpectedly on me last spring. They even had new owners just before that and made a big deal of a grand opening and such probably 10 months before they closed. I was in there one week, picked up some stuff and told them I'd be back. The next week I went by it was all closed up. They had alot of stock in the store (as far as accessories and a few parts.) No going out of business sale or nothing. Just boom, closed.

Really kinda shocked me. I've spent some coin in there in the last couple of years buying parts. They actually started giving me discounts and it made it worth while to stop.

heard last night that the editor of Illinois Snowmobile said that 6 AC dealers have closed this year in Illinois and that there are only 4 left in Illinois now!

Hey Joe. Snow I work at "another" dealer in Grand Rapids and we can get yamaha parts and i know we are cheaper than Shawmut and wont treat you as such, unfortunately I dont stock the parts but usually have them in 2-3 days as long as Yammi has em,if you have any questions let me know
And working for a dealer I know all of the major brands both motorcycle and sleds were down except for Kawasaki they were just 1-2% up from last year

Suzuki had a great year last year as well.

But I see a lot of stores of all kinds closing up shop overnight.

If I am not mistaken I think I read somewhere he works at treds & sleds. Am I right Bill. I have been there a few times and everyone I talked to seemed pretty cool. I don't need anything right now, that i'm aware of anyway. Last time I was out there was on my little step thru chinese 150cc scooter. I get people say to me sometimes why I didn't get a bigger bike, but I'll tell ya what that little sucker is fun to tool around on.

Yep hes right^

And I do not know who told you Suzuki had a good year bc they cut everyones order by more than half and did it again this year and raised their pricing twice both invoice and MSRP

Just for Example a 2008 GSXR600 MSRP was 9399
As of Jan 1 a 2009 GSXR600 was 9799
As of Jan 26th a 2009 GSXR600 is now 10399

All the dealers were just at an update meeting and were in awe bc of Suzuki and their problems they have been having they are going to a less supply and justify a higher price due to the lower supply is what they are going for and the reason being is sooo many dealers still have 07 and many many 08s we however did not have an 08GSXR600 after May 1 until we got 2 from a dealer going out of business on labor day weekend.
