Which one is the tall cover? For bonus points, which models/years did the tall cover come with?

Awe geesh, now i need to come up with a prize or something! I bought a used cover "A" from somebody that was to be from a 00 srx700 thinking it was a tall cover. I compared it to my cover (99 600sx) and notice mine was taller. So I have an extra short cover now I guess. Is there any advantage to me keeping the short cover??

if you have an abundance of short springs, run the short cover. tall covers first appeared in 98 on the srx, allowing the use of longer springs to reduce coil binding and improve performance. tall cover will have an 8DF00 casting number on it. most all triples had this clutch from 99 to present most of the 500 and 600 by 2000.

I am not even a die hard yammi guy and I could easily tell B was taller, due to the deeper spot for the spring to reside.

yupp not from a stock clutch from a 00 srx.guy probably didnt know it wasnt the original clutch when he sold it to you..

When I got the thing, it was noticably shorter. I measured it and it was indeed shorter. I was given conflicting information and thought I'd post the pics to make confirm my suspicion and make sure I wasn't overlooking something else. Thanks for confirming guys, I guess I'll hang on to it since I do have a few short springs.

I might have a couple short cover springs. you can have them if you need them. I'll look today. Paul
