is there anyway to repair the fuel gauge sender unit in the tank?
we have a 98 SRX 600 that we restored (original owner hit a stump, put a huge hole in the front cooler, and siezed the engine).
one thing that has never worked on this sled is the fuel gauge. the gauge itself works fine (we have 3 other SRX's - 2 700's and another 600). When we had the sled apart, we checked and repaired the wire harnesses, and re-inforced where the rubbed.
the float on the unit appears stuck at the bottom. we tried to pull up on it using a wire hook, but don't want to reaf on it too hard so we don't break a piece of it off.
I've looked in the shop manual and there is nothing on this.
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Plan to fix this at the end of season (unless its an easy fix).
thanks,
Dave

If it was in a wreck is it possable the suction hose/filter got wrapped around float. The arm falls way short of hitting tank. That is why there so inaccurate. Can't think of anything else it could get stuck on. It's pretty quick job to pull tank to get sender out to see what's going on.
