SRX handling Question

Hello all first time back on the forum this season, My question is a buddy of mine set my 02 SRX to hookup and go probably the fastest sled on the trail now really but it doesn't steer with the ski's anymore just the brake and the throttle and to be honest it scares the hell out of me on the trail especially a tight one with a lot of trees! What do you guys think of that setup do any of you ride like this or do you prefer to steer ?

Well I love the way it hooks up and goes, but not in the woods I already wasted the left trailing arm first ride with this setup, got a used one off e-bay and got it back together again but I'am trying to decide if I should learn how to ride it like this and slow down or put it back normal so I can steer again with the ski's and rip though the trail like before! I'am just was wondering how many of you ride without your ski's

even if you do slow down & learn to ride the sled this way.your going to get beat be a 488 super sport in the trail.your rear suspension is set up all wrong..& if this is how you keep it be careful because a friend of mine loved to ride wheelies so he had his limiter straps set all the way loose & kept putting his rails through his track when he landed & destroying it..but he liked it & no lie was buying 2-3 tracks at a time(brand new).because he had just got a settlement from when he got shot hunting years ago.& was pissing money away..but needless to say when he was broke & starightened up he fixed his suspension how it should have been..thats my story on this subject........p.s it only feels fast when your in the air.

That is the reply I was looking for! I was the fastest of all my riding buddies on the trail always inches from there slow flap or 1/2 mile ahead of them but now I'am scared and 1/2 mile behind them because in a trail it launches right now tree's or not I'am not a rich man either just a single parent trying to get away for the weekend and ride.

I think your kid and riding buddies would apreciate if you just left it alone. Nothing wrong with being scared and it may just keep you alive. At the very least keep you from rear-ending your buds or having them find you wadded up in a tree.

it will be the same sled just tighten the limiter straps in the front of the skid. it wont slow you down it will just keep the skis on the ground. you will still have the fastest sled on the trail. 20 min and you are done it is a EZ fix

Ya your kid probably likes seeing you come home in the truck, not in a box. I had kids and changed the way I rode 10 fold. I was always the guy in the lead tearin' up everything I rode. Don't get me wrong, I still like to give'er, but I SAVE IT FOR THE LAKES.

I'm going to be doing the same thing. I just purchased my first srx and he had the limiter strap all the way down for hole shots. Not to steal this thread how much should I shorten up the limiter strap for a good ballance.
