Well if you want 1"...I'd say the 1" carve..used to be the preditor. I put a 1-1/4 ripsaw on my Viper..and a friend has the ripsaw on his srx...and neither of us are concerned with studding...at least this year.. They seem to hook really well.
You should have NO clearance issues if you change to a 1" track as the '99 on up SRX's came from the factory with a .92 lug track.

rip saw you cannot stud how about haksaw
I just went from 192 studs to no studs in a 1.25 ripsaw. Ripsaw is way better on trails and studs are expensive and add rotating mass. I understand if your going to be on ice u need the studs. On hardpack trail where you can still make an imprint the ripsaw is excellent.

Sure you can...been done many times......just can't run a very long stud..
Hacksaw not as durable as the carve.. fingers can tear off.

Yep I went for 192 to ripsaw and I love it.....If I still needed studs I would run a hacksaw because I love my ripsaw soooooo much!!!!! I haven't had any problems in about 2000 miles with my ripsaw but I try not to spin on top of foreign objects!!
