Hey guys im helping out my pops. His drive shaft snapped like a twig and jack'd his inside chain case. Anyone have any parts laying around they want to sell?
Also.. I have never heard or seen a shaft snap. What gives? It was extremely cold that day it snapped. He was just riding along and the track seazed. Hence the problem.....

Check the classifieds on here or e-bay, I've seen some there lately. I had a shaft snap on my 94 V-Max 500 the same way. Just riding along and it started to make lots of noise, stopped and looked under the sled where the noise was coming from and seen the shaft had broken right where it goes into the chain case. Bought a used shaft and repaired, never happened again. -Ed

I wonder if a bad bearing would cause enough HEAT on that one spot on the shaft, add that to extreme cold and there's the weak spot??
