My steering busted a few days ago... I can barley see the problem, but I know its the problem..The bracket that holds the steering shaft at the bottom, under the rear engine mount.. It appears one of the bolts has come out or busted & the bracket has been bent out & the "bearings" are no-where to be seen.. so ya.. very very very little bit of steering left.. just enough to make it home... Now there is no way in hell I will be able to even geta wrench in there without either drilling out all the rivets holding the bellypan on or pulling both carbs & the rear engine mount off... What way is easier! ???? Or is there another way to access this area??? help would be much appreciated!!!

I have drilled out the rear rivets that are below the heat exchanger, cut a square hole big enough to get your hand in the belly pan, then used a hinge on one side and sheet metal screws on the other side (where the rivets were) and you will always have easy access !
