I need to put some new skis on my 84 Phazer and I want to get some plastic ones for weight reduction and better floatation. The poblem is, my sled is in Idaho and I'm in Salt Lake. I dont know what will fit on my sled. Will a set of newer skis fit? Why not? It's just one bolt right? I can't sped a lot of cash and I've seen used Yamaha skis on ebay for around 100-150. I wont be able to get up there till Thanksgiving and when I do get there I want to ride not wait till the next trip. The only skis that I know will fit are stock replacments. Any help would be appreciated.

The new style skis you see on e-bay will not just bolt on. The 84 ski is narrower and the shock extends down below the bolt holes. I would say buy a new replacement ski from a phazer 2 with the plastic skins. Be prepared when removing the old skis, the bolt is going to be frozen in the bushing and will most liklely need to be replaced by the time you get them out. Those bolts can make a ski change take more time than there worth. BTDT Good luck.

I had a Phazer that I put Ultra light SPL ski's on and they worked great. I don't know if you can find them any more. If you can they should be in expensive.
Also a set of OEM Yamaha plastic skis with USI brackets for a Phazer should make a good ski. I hope so as I put a set on my Phazer. It does take some work to make the bracket fit as Yamaha's bracket is a little smaller.
If all else fails, I have a set of OEM Phazer skis that I would sell for $ 40.00 if you paid the freight from Montana.
