I asked a local yamaha dealer a while back if they ever sold any ring free and I got a rather odd look followed by the parts guy saying he never heard of the stuff. Is ring free available here and someone supply a part number for me?I know people also run seafoam but that's also hard to get around here and I've been after my local auto parts place to get some in but no dice yet.

Your SOL, i tried to get ring free here in Ontario a few years back. I even called Yamaha Canada who said that reason they do not sell it up here is because our fuel is of higher quality and produces less deposits. I have been using SeaFoam the last two years and can tell you does make a difference. I get it a our local NAPA store, though they always seem to be out of stock. I guess i have told to many people around here.LOL
Just a comment on "our" gas, i don't seem to be reading or hearing of as many burn downs up here in Northern Ontario, I know Kirkswims Viper did go down but that's about it.

just to clarify, kirkswims viper went down on a tankful of 91 us octane. ran fine on the 87 down there. the sx500r was running boggy on the 91 as well. put it on 87 and straightened right back out.

Well looks like I'll have to expand my search for Seafoam.

i have seen it at canadian tire as well. it is showing up in a lot more places. a couple of local auto part stores now carry it besides napa.
