HELP!!!!!
I rebuilt the motor in this sled before x-mas. The ring turned and took out the pot, head and piston. The sled had just under 10,000 km.
So after rebuilding the top end (new pistons, rings, bearings, pins, gaskets, reeds, one new pot and head - all new Yamaha parts), it was ready to go. After riding it for a few miles it developed a bog on the bottom end. The bog continued to get worst to the point of the sled not being able to ride it.
After taking the carbs off a few times, to see if something was out of spec I decieded to check compression again. Both sides had 70 psi. So I tore the engine down again, but everything looked good.
I spoke to my local Yamaha shop, they said try another set of rings, but that didn't work. I then talked to a local engine shop, they rechecked the bore to piston clearance and ring gap, all in spec. They said to try replacing the crank seals.
OK I changed the crank seals and still 70-80 psi. Does anyone have any ideas????? HELP!!!!
