Need some help! A friend's kid was riding a 1993 Exciter 570 when it stopped and puked out most all the coolant. Not being there I don't have the answers as to why. Water pump is pumping but I did notice that the idiot light wire from the sensor was disconnected. Head was warped bad but the cylinders and pistons did not get out of round. Thermostat got so hot it actually bent it in the open position.
Surfaced the head, had the pistons and cylinders checked out, new gaskets, and put it back together. Now it will start and run for 15-20 seconds and stall. Further attempts and you just get a momentary pop and that's it. Let it set for a few hours and same sequence again. Ideas? Could it have gotten so hot as to have affected the seals? Would it act like that? Messed with a lot of these motors but never ran into this. Lots of spark, compression, and fuel too
Thanks for any ideas!!
