84 Vmax throttle block?

Does anybody know if the 1985 throttle block kill switch wiring will plug in and work on a 1984. I can order a 85 throttle unit, but the 84 you can't order anymore threw yamaha. any info would be great

yamaha parts man said the 1985 will work on the 1984! case closed
